 The
Chameleon Club has been a large regional draw for fans of new music
since 1985. National acts like Innocence Mission, Ocean Blue and Live
got their first breaks performing here, and the club has developed a national
reputation for its annual Blues Fest that features some of the best acts
on the globe.
In the mid 1990's the club had a small informational site developed by
some local fans who had started designing web pages. Within a year or
so, however, the demand from patrons for dynamic online information forced
the club owners to re-think their web presence.
I had developed a merchandise catalog area for the club's existing site
shortly after they went online, and was subsequently contracted to re-make
the entire site to better reflect the club's image, and to provide essential
dynamic information capabilities.
The current site combines a complete face-lift based on my own designs
with some of the original static content that was only in need of some
formatting help. Added to these cosmetics are a dynamic performance/event
schedule, mailing list sign-up and searchable links directory, all of
which are managed by club personnel via a simple web-based administration
system (shown below).
